What is this program?

The Affordable Rental Program provides safe, affordable rental housing for lower-income Inuit individuals and families in Nunatsiavut who can live independently.This program is intended to help those facing challenges such as low income, overcrowded living conditions, homelessness, or unsafe housing. By offering affordable rental options, the program aims to support well-being and stability in Nunatsiavut communities.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be Beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement and meet income eligibility requirements. Priority is given to individuals and families who are:

  • Experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness
  • Living in overcrowded or inadequate housing
  • Elders, people with disabilities, or those requiring social supports
  • Low-income households
